BioEthics at the Cinema: Boy Erased

Age Group: Adults

Event Description

Join the Mayo Clinic Community Engagement in Research Program for BioEthics at the Cinema, a film series that features films focusing on medical and/or scientific ethics followed by a panel discussion.  In March we'll be watching Boy Erased (rated R), a film about a teenage boy's process of self-discovery as a gay man forced to participate in conversion therapy after he comes out to his conservative Christian parents.  The screening will be followed by a discussion on the bioethics of sexuality and gender, the effects of psychological trauma, and supporting the LGBTQIA community.
