Event Description

Join the library and Mayo Clinic's Biomedical Ethics Research Program for a virtual book discussion on Year of the Nurse: a 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic Memoir by Cassandra Alexander, RN.

The COVID-19 pandemic has further revealed cracks and fissures in the U.S. health system. In turn, it has caused them by placing immense pressure on frontline health workers. About one in five healthcare workers has left their job since the pandemic started. How can we bridge the gap between community and clinical experiences during the pandemic? How can we build empathy for each other when we are all so tired? We are Med City. Join us for a discussion of healing and seeking wholeness in community.
