Event Description
In programs designed for all ages, musicians of the Rochester Symphony will be sharing their music in a series of small group appearances. By talking about the instruments and demonstrating them individually and together, the performers will give attendees insight into how music is made and how to listen to live performance. There will be plenty of time for questions and interaction as well!
On May 14th, a quartet of string players will share their music. From slow and somber to fast and lively, they will demonstrate how the united sound of strings comes together in a variety of specifically American music. Hear the slowly intensifying agony of Barber’s Adagio for Strings as well as fun, energetic folk sounds in Dvorak’s American Quartet.
Musicians appearing include:
Amy Lindstrom, violin
Maureen Howell, violin
John Vettel, viola
John Osborn, cello
